Owego, NY has been a cool town for as long as I can remember. My dad even tells a story from the early 1940’s of riding the train from Binghamton, NY to Michigan. When the conductor called out the Owego stop, it wasn’t just an announcement, it was a long, drawn out tone, like a song that just rang out…OOOOO…WEEEEE…GO…
and the “go” was held as the train arrived. Growing up in a neighboring community, I always enjoyed visiting the lively town and was amazed at the pride that people had when they said they were from Owego. That feeling still follows today as you walk in town and speak with the people that call Owego home. The area thrives on great people, great businesses, awesome community spirit, culture, nature, history, and activities that bring people from all over, to our town., America’s Coolest Small Town! They have my vote!
